This was our final match of the league season and our team was pretty much as strong as we can be. Yes a couple of players were missing but such is the depth of this group we have 14/15 players now who can switch in and out without us missing a beat.

St Crispins won the toss on a lovely sunny evening and opted to bat.

Luke 0-9 and Charlie 0-8 opened up and bowled nicely against the 2 openers who were in good form. Krish was introduced into the attack and was immediately set about by one of the St Crispin players who scored 4 fours off the over. He clearly targeted the spin option and on artificial it is not always easy for the slower bowlers. Krish came back well later in the innings with a maiden and finished with 0-16.
At the first sanitising break the opposition were 45-0 off 7 overs. We were in a game if we hadn't already realised it. A couple of chances had gone down and we were just a little off the pace but I needn't have worried. The next 13 overs were exceptional.
Fin got things rolling taking 2-4, Sammy 0-5, Sam 0-5 and Jack 0-4 kept things tight before wickets started to tumble. MOragn took 1-4, Ram 2-0 and Will 2-0. There were fine catches for Luke &Fin and a good stumping for Noah. Our fielding improved too and there were good run outs for Will and Sam.
We had restricted them to 65-9 and only 20 runs for 9 wickets off the last 13 overs.

Noah and Ram opened the batting and set about chasing the target down. It didn't take long, just 7 overs in fact as we got here without losing a wicket Noah 26 off 16 and Ram 28 off 18.
We carried on batting to give our boys a chance and also to let the Crispins bowlers get into the game. Charlie Brett hit a nice 6 in his 10 from 6, Sammy Yardley scored a runs a ball 25 whilst Sam didn't trouble the scorers. Jack scored just 4 from 5, before Morgan 28 off 17 showed some fine aggression whenever the ball was short. Fin scored 28 off 17 (a strike rate marginally better than Noah!) and Krish added 6 from 8. Luke and Will came in at the end and didn't get much chance to shine with 2 from 3 and 9 from 3 respectively. Will certainly showed some aggression hitting his first 2 balls for 4.

A fantastic win and the boys have deservedly gone all season unbeaten. 9 wins from 10 games and 1 called off.

As a treat we took a short trip to McDonalds to celebrate with McFlurrys and Milkshakes.
