We were up against Brixworth this week who are at a different stage on their development journey to our U11s.

We lost the toss and were invited to bat first.
Will and Connor(who volunteered to open again) got us off to a good start with 21 off 13 and 12 off 11 respectively. Both batted nicely putting away the bad ball although there were a few questionable singles taken! One such occasion saw Connor get run out, our only dismissal of the day.
Ali 29 off 13 and Harry 7 from 11, kept things going well. Ali struck the ball really well and although Harry pushed the ball about well didn't have his very best innings struggling to get the ball away off his legs.
Harshil 18 off 15 inc 1 six and Rajan 5 from 9 pushed the score on well without looking like getting out and it was left to Krish 33 from 16 and Luke 23 off 11 to finish things off. A score of 381 for 1 was impressive. Whilst Brixworth are still developing it should be noted just how well all their kids fielded today. There was barely a misfield in sight and credit where it is due it is one of the better fielding displays we have seen from an opposing side this year.

With it our turn to bowl with the exception of a few wides we were on the mark today. Rajan was the pick of the bowlers this week taking 2-2 and there were wickets elsewhere for Harry 1-9, Connor 1-2, Harshil 1-0 and Luke 1-2 (his only runs conceded were a wide in the final over which I am sure prompted some arguments with Dad in the car on the way home!) There were also decent catches for Krish and Luke.

We ended up clear winners but I was really impressed with how the Brixworth boys stuck at it and defended stoutly. Thats probably the fewest wickets we have taken all season.

Thx to Julie for Sanitising everyone and to John for umpiring although he was nearly struck following a fierce blow from Will much to the amusement of all watching! Sorry John.
