Despite all the rain, somehow Sunday brought Sunshine to Overstone. This was fitting given the amount of hard work that had gone into the day. Special mention to Lynsey Millar and Kev Williams who pulled together the event, Sandra for working behind the bar, Mark Goody and Marc Pettican on the Bar B Q, Jilly Wood, all the girls selling sweets and cakes etc etc! Apologies if I have missed anyone.

Alongside 6 other teams over 80 children played on the day and the ground was awash with kids and colour! Mike Clark and Roger had done a fantastic job preparing the ground and we had 4 pitches set up.

All our teams did really well especially given the fact that for some of our kids it was their first experience of a Cricket Tournament. The Flyers narrowly missed out on the Semis and the Overstone Wellingburians played their hearts out too.

The Rockets managed too win all three of their group games and progressed to the Semi final where they met Northampton Saints. Saints are always strong and put up a good fight but some excellent performances meant we qualified for the final where we played Horton A.

Horton won the last tournament at Finedon so were always going to be a tough opponent. Batting first Horton were restricted to 201-8. Some excellent bowling from Teddy Green, Dexter Pettican and Luca Carlier in particular meant we were in a strong position at half way. Special mention to Harry Malton who took 2 fantastic catches.

When it was out turn to bat, Rajan Patel showed what a good player he is and along with the Marlow Twins(Sam and Max), and Connor Westland there were some excellent scoring shots. It all came down to the last pair who didn't start off in ideal circumstances with a run out but Teddy and Milo Green showed composure so that we got over the line at 218-7. A tense finish but a deserved win against a very good opponent.

Special mention to Luca Carlier who was named Best Batsman in the final too.

A massive thank you to all the Coaches on the day Dav Patel, George Barry and Matt Stevens along with Wellingborough School for their generous support on the day. All the kids walked away with a goodie bag provided by the school.
